"Art With Altitude"

A self-taught freelance artist for over thirty years, Scott Alan Forsha finds enjoyment in both traditional and digital media providing art and design for web and print. "I'm pretty much into anything visual," he says. "Digital painting, for example allows me to work in the traditional sense without the time and physical constraints of painting with oils, acrylics or watercolors. Clients also love to receive a digital file very quickly, allowing them to send the work to print, or upload to their website."

Scott has drawn and painted since his early childhood, and like most boys found inspiration in aviation and dreamed of flight. He planned on joining the US Navy like his father, who served during the Korean war. Following the loss of an eye in an accident as a teen, he continued creating artwork though his dreams of flying seemed at an end, after having been turned down by each of the Armed Services. Many years later after learning that one could fly civilian aircraft with one eye he was encouraged by many pilots, including his flight instructors, a monocular pilot with forty years of flying experience, several major airline pilots and many others with military and civilian aviation backgrounds. Scott holds a private pilot certificate and plans to pursue an instrument rating.

Never referring to monocularity as a disability, Scott encourages those with physical ailments; "Never give up on your dreams— you may have to work a little harder to get there, but don't quit— stay focused, especially when things seem impossible." For twenty-five years Scott worked in healthcare as a medical photographer and technical supervisor, providing encouragement for patients with vision problems, and now enjoys working for a charter airline.

"Faith, Family, Friends, Flyin' and Fishin'— it's finding the time for those last two that's the tough part."

In addition to art, Scott loves spending time with his family and friends, playing ball and video games with his boys, working on his home-built flight simulator (a recycled Cessna 172K), and flying.

Can't keep my mind from the circling skies
Tongue-tied and twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I

Scott is extremely passionate about safety in aviation. Very special childhood friends of his tragically lost both of their parents in an aircraft accident. After experiencing an engine failure during flight training and then surviving an airplane crash as a passenger, Scott is dedicated to promoting education and safety through flight simulation and real-world training.
